Douglas Hawkins is Vice President Public Affairs & Policy for Pfizer Nutrition, a global business unit with a significant presence in Asia, the Middle East and Europe. Prior to this, he was Director, International Trade Relations, for Wyeth, a large-cap Biopharma company. In this capacity, he represented a broad range of trade, pricing, intellectual property and health policy interests before governments, international organizations and industry associations.

Doug has served in many industry roles, including Vice President of the global infant foods association, IFM, where he successfully guided major reform efforts.  He has served on several boards including the George Washington Law School, Creative & Innovative Economy Center.  He also chaired the International Organization Issues Committee of the US pharmaceutical association PhRMA for several years.   

As a tenured United Nations employee at the World Intellectual Property Organization in Geneva, Doug managed many multilateral treaty initiatives, coordinating large, culturally diverse, cross-functional teams. He also worked for EDS Ventures, leading e-commerce and domain name policy issues with ICANN and the US Department of Commerce.

Mr. Hawkins holds a Master of Science with commendation in International Policy from the University of Bristol in the UK, has authored several publications on global policy and international patent law, and holds a United Nations certificate for French linguistic aptitudes.

Anthony is a Managing Partner at Reputation Institute, responsible for its North American Advisory practice. Anthony leads a team of consultants who enable business leaders to make decisions that build and protect reputation capital and drive competitive advantage. Anthony’s experience has spanned the world as well as numerous industries, including: Health Care, Pharma, Energy, Automotive, Media, Financial Services, Agriculture, Consumer Products, and Technology. Including these assignments, Anthony has spent the past 16 years in a combination of brand management, general management, and corporate communications roles. 

After his start with Procter & Gamble, Anthony founded his own “dotcom” during the late 90’s, which he followed by founding The Coca-Cola Think Tank in 2000. It was as an advisor to the CEO of The Coca-Cola Company that Anthony first began work with Reputation Institute. As an undergrad, Anthony taught Economics and Statistics at Harvard University, and since graduation, has continued to speak on a number of topics, most recently as host of “Navigating the Reputation Economy”, Reputation Institute’s annual global conference. Anthony has also written on topics, including Leveraging Reputation to Drive Business Results, Reputation Risk, and of late “The Era Of Brand Imperialism Is Over. Long Live The Reputation Economy!”, published by Forbes and American Banker.

As vice president of corporate communications for Hormel Foods Corporation, Julie H. Craven oversees all communications and community relations activities, serves as the company’s chief spokesperson and is responsible for Studio H — the company’s creative and culinary services group.

In this capacity, Craven has overall responsibility for media relations, employee communications, the company’s digital presence, issues management, corporate responsibility initiatives and the consumer response group. She serves as administrator to the Hormel Foods Charitable Trust, which features the company’s scholarship and matching gift programs.

During her 24-year career with the company, Craven has developed her vision for the strategic position of Hormel Foods and its diverse portfolio of brands. Craven joined the company as director of consumer affairs in 1988, transferred to foodservice as a product manager in 1995 and was promoted to senior product manager three years later. She was promoted to director of corporate communications in 2001 and to vice president in 2005.

Prior to joining Hormel Foods, Craven gained operations and marketing services experience at Kraft Foods and was a food editor at Meredith Corporation for Better Homes & Gardens special interest publications.

Craven holds a bachelor of science degree in nutrition and dietetics from Iowa State University and a master’s degree in food science and nutrition from the University of Missouri. She is a native of Cedar Falls, Iowa.

Craven is a member of a number of professional organizations, including the Arthur W. Page Society, Minnesota Women’s Economic Roundtable, American Dietetic Association, Minnesota Dietetic Association, Public Relations Society of America, Institute for Public Relations and International Association of Business Communicators. In addition, she is former chairman of the Grocery Manufacturers of America communications committee.

Bill Wohl has a 25+-year career in communications, and is recognized in the PR industry as a leading strategic communications expert. 

He was recently featured as the cover story of the August issue of PR Week magazine; was named 21st among PR Week’s Top 50 communications executives to watch in 2011; was nominated to The Holmes Report Influence 100 (top in-house communicators in the world); and was recognized 4th among the Top 20 Social CMOs of the Fortune 100 by Social Media Graphics.

Most recently, Bill served as Senior Vice President & Chief Communications Officer for Hewlett-Packard, a $130 billion leader in the IT industry with 320,000 employees.  There he led communications, reported to the CEO, and provided strategic communications counsel to the executive team. 

Prior to joining HP, he worked for 12 years at SAP, where, as a member of the company's senior leadership team, Bill was one of the company’s primary spokespersons. He directly counseled SAP's CEOs and executive board members on communications for major corporate and product topics, including strategy, litigation, M&A and product launches.

Bill managed communications at the computer industry’s largest independent hardware service provider, DecisionOne Corporation. Bill also led public relations and communications at Remington Arms, a leading firearms and sporting goods manufacturer, and at the DuPont Company. His first assignment was on the public relations staff of the Office of the Governor of the State of Delaware.  

Bill holds a Bachelor Degree in Public Affairs from the University of Delaware.  In his spare time, he has served more than 25 years as an emergency medical technician and firefighter, responding to emergency 911 calls for the volunteer fire department in West Grove, Pennsylvania (an organization for which he also served in various leadership roles including President and ambulance captain).

John Nelson joined Kaiser Permanente in 2008, as vice president of issues and brand management. His primary responsibility is to design and lead a strategically engaged brand management function, including developing strategies and systems that provide early warning of emerging issues and allow the organization to address issues and respond to crises before and as they emerge.

John came to Kaiser Permanente after serving eight years as a strategic communications professional with Pacific Gas and Electric Company, one of the nation’s largest gas and electric utilities. He served two years as director of government relations, where he led efforts to develop and manage fully integrated public affairs, marketing and advertising, governmental, and stakeholder management strategies, and provided strategic guidance and counsel on competitive and reputational issues. During his first six years at PG&E, John served as the director of media relations for the utility, where he managed the combined public relations and media affairs department, and helped lead the company’s strategic communications direction.

Before joining PG&E, John enjoyed a 15-year career in politics and government in California and Illinois, working in the fields of media and governmental relations, policy development, fiscal analysis, and political strategy. John has served three Governors and two Assembly Speakers, as well as consulted to U.S. Senators and Members of Congress, a state Attorney General, and numerous state legislators and ballot initiative committees.
