UNDP Workshop – Beyond the Value Chain: Strengthening Public Private Collaboration for Sustainable Agricultural Commodity Production

How can producers and buyers of agricultural commodities (such as palm oil, soy, beef, cocoa, coffee) collaborate more effectively with governments in producer countries in Latin America, Africa and Asia to create the enabling conditions for sustainable agricultural production?

This by-invitation event is a highly participatory workshop with a strong focus on peer to peer learning. The workshop is split into two 90 minute session on consecutive days. Participants should ideally attend both sessions.

During the workshop, participants will share learnings on:

  • Why effective public private collaboration is so essential to address some of the key enabling conditions for sustainable agricultural production.
  • The current reality of public private collaboration for sustainable agricultural production: what is working, what is not, what are the key success factors and the key obstacles?
  • How public private collaboration can be strengthened: what actions need to be taken, where and by whom?
