The Responsible Business Summit Europe 2020 26-28 May, 2020 · London, UK

On Tuesday 26th May we will be hosting a number of output-driven workshops, with select partners, on key issues and opportunities that lie ahead in sustainable business. All attendees benefit from access to these workshops. Do request access to the workshops that you would like to attend. Due to limited capacity, we may not be able to grant your first choice, so do select all workshops that are of interest.

The Future of Food and Land Use – in partnership with UN Development Programme

How can producers and buyers of agricultural commodities (such as palm oil, soy, beef, cocoa, coffee) collaborate more effectively with governments in producer countries to create the enabling conditions for sustainable agricultural production? A new UNDP-developed tool helps chart the way forward.

Join the United Nations Development Programme in three-hour workshop, that will explore the challenges and solutions for improved public private collaboration for sustainable agriculture and land use in producer countries in Latin America, Africa and Asia.

We will explore:

  • Why effective public private collaboration is so essential to address some of the key enabling conditions for sustainable agricultural production.
  • The current reality of public private collaboration for sustainable agricultural production: what is working, what is not, what are the key success factors and the key obstacles?
  • How public private collaboration can be strengthened: what actions need to be taken, where and by whom?

The workshop will be highly participatory. Attendees will share insights from where public private participation is working best and where it’s not. The aim is to identify specific hotspots and come up with actions that can help strengthen collaboration.

The Future of Procurement – Fashion Commodities and Land Use Issues – in partnership with Forum for the Future

Join international sustainability non-profit Forum for the Future in this three-hour workshop to explore the Future of Procurement, with a focus on procurement of fashion commodities and land use issues.

Using stimulating futures tools and resources, and drawing on first-hand experience by leading companies, this workshop will equip participants with:

  • An understanding of the key trends shaping procurement in the apparel industry and what they might mean for brands and investors
  • The opportunity to deep-dive into a range of plausible future scenarios that business should be prepared for and develop resilience across, and explore the risks and opportunities these scenarios are likely to present
  • The opportunity to identify and deepen possible appropriate strategic responses for brands and investors, with a focus on procurement strategies, business models and technology.

This workshop will be particularly relevant to representatives from brands, retailers, investors and others involved in the supply chains of the apparel industry (and possibly food).
